The terms like resize, create,delete and format Mac partition has always been associated with Mac Lion or Mac OS X 10.7 , since the release of this new Mac operating system. Users, whether a newbie or tech savvy , find it safe to have a new partition or volume for Mac Lion. There are many reasons to modify Mac Lion partition and some of them are:
- If a user wants to create new volumes in Mac disk then the existing partition (Mac Lion volume ) needs to be resized.
- There are Mac users who have created a dual boot drive comprised of Mac Snow Leopard and Mac Lion. Some of them are not satisfied with Mac Lion and want to format Mac OSX 10.7.
- Many mac users find their machines running slower after upgrading to Mac Lion (due to any reason) and now they want to remove Mac Lion partition.
So, the scenarios mentioned above, lead us to have a partition manager for Mac Lion. Stellar partition manager is one such application which is capable to handle all the modifications in Mac partitions.
Here are the options available in Stellar partition manager
- First, select a particular Volume/Partition and the free spaces together from the graphical view of the interface. Click 'Resize' icon on the tool bar.
- Click the 'Resize' button and move , the 'Resize Partition' window appears. Move the slider and specify the required volume size. Click 'OK' and the resizing process starts.
- Once the operation is completed , the resized partition gets mounted on the desktop.
2.Create new partition for Mac Lion – Here are the steps to create or add a new partition to Mac drive
- The application lists all the drives attached to machine in left panel of the interface. Select a drive, in which you want to create a new partition and click 'Add ' button in tool bar.
- Give name to the new volume and specify the size in 'Add New Volume' dialog box. Click the Ok button.
- Select the Drive from the left pane and select the Lion volume.
- Click “delete” button and continue the process.
